As we age, changes in appetite and absorption make key nutrients—such as calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, protein, fiber, and heart-healthy minerals—especially important for maintaining bone strength, muscle mass, energy, and overall health. While whole foods are the best source of these nutrients, supplements may help fill gaps when needed and should be chosen carefully and reviewed with a healthcare provider to ensure safety and avoid interactions.
